The AES Corporation is a Fortune 200 global power company who provide sustainable energy to over 10 million people in 17 countries through thermal and renewable generation facilities. AES in Northern Ireland has chosen Infotechnics’ Opralog solution for preparing and reporting shift activities in the plants.
AES has two power stations in Northern Ireland, one at Ballylumford and another in Kilroot. The AES Ballylumford Power Station has a generating capacity of 1246 MW it is the largest power station on the island of Ireland. The AES Kilroot Power Station has a generating capacity of 520 MW from dual coal and oil fuelled generators, plus 84 MW from additional gas turbines.

Jon Howard, Business Development Director at Infotechnics said, “We’re really pleased to add AES to our growing customer base in Ireland. Opralog is used across the power generation industry and will provide AES with real time reporting that is available 24/7. This will allow the plant to recognize potential risks and hazards earlier and and make more informed decisions. We look forward to working together.”
